چکیده

Abstract Bayesian Estimation Applied to Multiple Species (BEAMS) is implemented in the BEAMS with Bias Corrections (BBC) framework produce a redshift-binned Hubble diagram (HD) for Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). BBC corrects selection effects and non–SN contamination, systematic uncertainties are described by covariance matrix dimension matching number of redshift bins. For spectroscopically confirmed SN samples, recent “Binning Sinning” article showed that an unbinned HD reduces uncertainty factor ∼1.5 compared binned approach. Here we extend their analysis obtain photometrically identified sample processed BBC. To test this new method, simulate analyze 50 samples corresponding Dark Energy Survey (DES) low-redshift anchor; simulation includes SNe Ia, contaminants from core-collapse peculiar Ia. The calibration measures dark energy equation state parameter ( w ). Compared HD, nearly 2000 events results smaller uncertainty, qualitative agreement BHS21, averaging among find no evidence -bias. reduce computation time fitting large propose HD-rebinning method defines bins redshift, color, stretch; rebinned similar as case, shows

TYPE Ia SUPERNOVAE AND THE HUBBLE CONSTANT

The focus of this review is the work that has been done during the 1990s on using Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) to measure the Hubble constant (H0). SNe Ia are well suited for measuring H0. A straightforward maximum–light color criterion can weed out the minority of observed events that are either intrinsically subluminous or substantially extinguished by dust, leaving a majority subsample that h...

The Hubble Diagram of Type Ia Supernovae in Non-Uniform Pressure Universes

We use the redshift-magnitude relation, as derived by Da̧browski (1995), for the two exact non-uniform pressure spherically symmetric Stephani universes with the observer positioned at the center of symmetry, to test the agreement of these models with recent observations of high redshift type Ia supernovae (SNIa), as reported in Perlmutter et al. (1997). By a particular choice of model parameter...

Cepheid calibration of type Ia Supernovae and the Hubble constant

We investigate how a different calibration of the Cepheid Period-Luminosity (PL) relation taking into account the metallicity corrections, affects the absolute magnitude calibration of Supernovae (SNe) Ia and, in turn, the determination of the Hubble constant H0. We exploit SN Ia light curves from literature and previously unpublished data, to build the MB – ∆m15(B) relation and we calibrate th...

Hubble Diagrams of Type Ia Supernovae in the Near Infrared

From observations of 7 Type Ia supernovae obtained during the last four years at the Las Campanas and Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatories, along with previous published data for 9 supernovae, we present JHK Hubble diagrams and derive absolute magnitudes at maximum light of 16 objects out to a redshift of 0.038. On the scale of H0 = 72 km s −1 Mpc we find mean absolute magnitudes at maximu...

Type Ia Supernovae and the Value of the Hubble Constant

The methodology involved in deriving the Hubble Constant via the calibration of the corrected peak luminosities of Type Ia supernovae (SNe) is reviewed. We first present a re-analysis of the CalánTololo (C-T) and Center for Astrophysics (CfA) Type Ia SN surveys. Bivariate linear least squares and quadratic boot-strapped fits in peak apparent magnitude and light curve shape are employed to corre...
